Cable company's VS Online developers

Posted by cdavenport4 | Posted in

Okay, here's the deal. Company's like Comcast and RoadRunner are in testing in some locations to start charging by the bandwidth.

So, you say? Lets break this down shall we. The cable company's want more money plus the want to detour bandwidth hogs. So, they come up with this little plan to give you so much bandwidth a month and a charge of something per megbit/gigabit if you go over that set amount. (I'm none to happy with this)

For tech and developers that make there living online and need unlimited bandwidth this would be devastating to them. On top of that, company's like YouTube, Hulu, iTunes and Netflix would have to close there doors because everyone would be concerned if they would go over there allotment. I know I would be.

Here's a question. Why haven't the company's like the ones I listed above voicing her option in protest? That what I really want to know.
